Chenrezig

The Dalai Lama is believed to be a manifestation of Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and the patron saint of Tibet. Bodhisattvas are realized beings inspired by the wish to attain Buddhahood by being reborn in the world in order to liberate all sentient beings from suffering.

During the height of the Covid pandemic and after putting the kids to bed I worked on this drawing. Around the same time, HHDL offered the Avalokiteshvara empowerment on Zoom worldwide. It felt like a blessing that deepened my connection and understanding of the energy I was drawing.

His renowned mantra, "Om Mani Padme Hum," is one of the most famous and widely used in Tibetan Buddhism, representing the union of method and wisdom.

Green Tara

Green Tara’s image brings a sense of protection and swift resolution to difficulties, making it a comforting presence in any space, particularly in spaces where one seeks tranquility and support.

Green Tara, the only manifestation of Tara where her right leg is poised for action, was born from a tear of Chenrezig, who wept for the world’s suffering. She vowed to return in female form to help all beings without hesitation. I have felt protected by Green Tara’s fierce love during the most challenging moments of my life. My connection to her, and the Rinpoches and my Reiki Master who have transmitted her energy to me, is profound.

Green Tara is a female deity and a Bodhisattva of compassion and action. She embodies the supernatural energy of a mother in action. She is associated with protection and assistance. Her mantra is “Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha”

Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, is considered the founder of Tibetan Buddhism and is revered as a second Buddha. He is credited with bringing Buddhism to Tibet and is often depicted as a powerful figure who subdues demons and negative forces.

Guru Rinpoche represents transformation, wisdom, and the overcoming of obstacles.

His image is often used as a talisman for protection and spiritual growth.

When my son was 5, also during Covid, he asked me to paint him a Guru Rinpoche for his bedroom. Known for transforming deities and demons into Dharma protectors, Guru Rinpoche symbolizes the overcoming of challenges through wisdom.
